A Million Reasons Why You Should Apply For AMCP (SEASON 3)
We invite you to apply for the ADA MBANO CULTURAL PAGEANT (SEASON3) this year.
Click on the How to Apply tab to fill out your form. Right unto your first step of achieving great things.
A Million Reasons Why You Should Apply For AMCP
You've been seeing the ads about "Who wears the crown of Ada Mbano 2016?" and you're thinking to yourself, I won't let myself, my friend much less my relatives enter this cultural beauty pageant!"
Hold on, don't be so fast to draw conclusions. I'm here to tell you there are a ton of reasons why you should! A lot of people think that it's all about the big hair, beauty, walking around on stage, and being superficial! You have no idea what even participating in a competition like that holds for you. I’m going to give you few of those reasons why you should be a part of this experience.
1. Building Self-Confidence
The number one of a million reasons to enter a beauty pageant is to build self-confidence. Have you seen Nike Oshinowo-Soleye speak in public? She’s absolutely amazing. At some point she launched her fitness DVD “Fit, Forty and Fabulous” if that's not confidence then what is?
2. Lessons You Learn
There are so many things you learn not only about yourself, but also about communication skills, leadership, interviews, poise and more especially cultural exploit! Pageantry is a doorway for those who want to be on stage, give back, and of course learn more about themselves!
3. Friendships/Family
The girls you compete with or even after become your family, regardless of all the stereotyping about girl fights and fake personalities. You'll be pleased to learn that it isn't true. You'll always have one of those girls who eventually turn out to be family.
4. Opportunities
Pageantry opens a window of opportunities in the entertainment world and beyond. There are good chances you might turn out to be a professional model, actor, performing artiste, ambassador and even hold a political position. The list is endless! Even if you want to speak out about things you are passionate about for philanthropy points of views as well, you know everyone will hang on your every word because that’s part of what being a celebrity is all about, so choose your words right.
5. Community Involvement
Now, the best sides of pageantry are the organizations you get to work with or begin! It’s really all about giving back, paying it forward, and doing the right thing! It’s just like doing your Community Development (CDs) as a corps (NYSC) member the only difference is that you’re well known. Pageantry gives you the opportunity to network with numerous organizations and work with them, help them spread the awareness and much more. You just have to know that all you need to do is ask right and have a well thought out plan and they will come toppling at your brand. Now, you don't need a sash or crown to be involved with your community!
6. The Crown
Now, of course the crown and sash are materialistically the highlights of the competition. The title itself! But the truth is that you define the crown, the crown does not define you. Meaning, you make the crown, so do something good, amazing, and make a difference. Your reign is only a year, and in a year you can do whatever your heart pleases! And trust me when I say some people really just take that fame and party all year, I’m guessing you will want to be one of the few that will want her name to be remembered with a deeper meaning than just a beautiful face.
7. New You
Pageantry wouldn't do anything for you? Except you refuse to explore the different platforms it places right under your lashes. Because pageantry literally changes who you are with what you aspire to do, your vision, philosophy and everything you once were. It teaches you so much about yourself, and you learn so much about other key things in life from poise, grace, proper communication, building self-confidence, networking, and much more!
So, do you think you are a bright young woman that wants to be singled out for something distinctive? Do you really think you stand out among the most beautiful and brightest ladies from all over Nigeria that are confident enough to step out of their comfort zones? Let’s make this year a memorable one.

IT WAS REALLY HARD
HER EMINENCE QUEEN CHINWENDU JENNIFER NWANKWO (WINNER)
ADA MBANO CULTURAL PAGEANT 2015/15.
SHE HAPPILY NARRATED A BRIEF LIFE STORY - with her experience during the pageant.
"I Can't boast to be the best but i sincerely believe in myself"
Background
My
names are Miss Jennifer Chinwendu Nwankwo. I am Ada Mbano Cultural Pageant
2015/16 (winner). I am from Imo State and an indigenous daughter of Mbano. I
was born on September 5th, 1996 but grew up in Onitsha, Anambra
State. I had my primary education there. I am an aspiring student. Growing up
was fun with my parents and siblings. I’m the first child out of 4 younger
siblings. .
Ada Mbano Cultural pageant
I
heard of it from a friend who introduced it and ask me to try it out. The
contestants were all beautiful, talented and bold. It was really hard choosing
who has to wear the crown the second time, everybody was up on their game and
showing their best but i wasn't scared to be there.“I can’t boast to be
the best but I sincerely believed in myself”, though I have gone for pageantries but never lucky ,maybe I
was not confident then but I became bold and trust my instinct to get it right
this time and God did favored me.
Influence
Growing
up, I always saw myself as a queen. I looked up to ladies like Collette Nwadike
(FACE OF UNIVERSE 2016) Genevieve Nnaji, Stephanie Okereke, Agbani Darego and
Adaeze Cassandra Iwule (Ada Imo USA 2015). I have always watched them, the
charisma, boldness and being strong women and knew I wanted to be like that
someday. Then, it became a passion. I aspire to grow to be strong.
Family support
My
mum has always been there for me, she understood what pageantry is all about
and she fully supports me. My Dad has always supported my entertainment part
always especially dancing. Though they saw the competitions as distractions
from reading my books and preparing for tertiary and also thought I was too
young to handle the fame that would come with it, but they really do supported
me.
Life after the competition
It
has been fabulous and glamorous. It has been wonderful and I am having the time
of my life. At this point, I feel like being Ada Mbano forever.
Passion
I
have a part of me that can still do what I do in real life on camera. Acting is
a resemblance to a real life situation. We all act in our little ways. Working
my way to Nollywood soon.
Fame
Fame
has not taken away my freedom, though it has restricted it. As a queen and
public figure, all eyes are on you, you have to be vigilant and careful in all
your doings. But I do not think I am famous yet but with time.
Plans after the crown
I
still have my office in Nelly Conxept Entertainment, even after the crown. I
still want to be in the public eye and star in movies. I am seeing a revolution
in Nollywood and I want to be part of it.
Relationship
That
is my privacy and I still want it to be private.
Style
Style
is the essence of life. I like to keep it simple. People tend to judge you with
the way they see you and how you present yourself without knowing the inner
you.
Advice to girls
Being
a queen does not connote desperation. When you are desperate, so many things
would go wrong. Persevere and work hard towards achieving what you want. Never
let anyone discourage you from what you want to do and when that happens try to
be your best and do it well. Above all be yourself and stand up for it. It’s
your RIGHT.
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

have difficulty eating, breathing and speaking. Solving sickness in unfortunate
children are simple, and the transformation of giving them hope again is
immediate. Our sustainable model provides training, funding and resources to
empower local doctors in our society to provide 100% free sickness cure and
comprehensive cleft repair surgery in our own communities.
We use the “Teach a man to fish” model
focusing on helping local doctors/hospitals to perform sickness cure in our
communities. Those doctors then go on to train other doctors creating a
long-term, sustainable system.

HOW TO PREVENT LASSA FEVER (WAR AGAINST RATS)
AVOID LASSA FEVER TODAY!!!
Let me Start by telling you a brief history of LASSA FEVER DISEASE
Lassa fever is endemic in Nigeria. It was first discovered in a town called
Lassa in Borno state in 1969. It was from the name of the town that the disease
got its name. Some of the symptoms of
haemorrhagic fever are high fever, serious headache and bleeding from the pores
of the body parts which are all characterised by high fatality.
Information from the Ministry
of Health says: According to a release by the
Ministry of Health recently, in the last 6 weeks, Nigeria has been experiencing
Lassa fever (LF) outbreak which has so far affected more than 8 states. The
states affected include Bauchi, Nasarawa, Niger, Taraba, Kano, Rivers, Edo and
Oyo.
The total number of suspected cases
so far reported is 76 with 35 deaths, and a Case Fatality Rate (CFR) of 46%.
The Ministry of Health laboratories have confirmed 14 cases, indicative of a
new episode of Lassa fever outbreak.
Information on the Lassa fever
outbreak as of Wednesday, January 13 confirmed that a person died as a result
of the disease in the National Hospital at Abuja.
Previous report was that Lassa fever
claimed 41 lives from 93 reported cases in 10 states of the country. The number
of the suspected cases also rose from 86 last week to 93 this week. In addition
a person died last week in Edo state.
Here is latest information: Twelve states have so far been affected. The states affected
include Bauchi, Nasarawa, Niger, Taraba, Kano, Rivers, Edo, Plateau, Gombe,
Abuja, Lagos and Oyo. Imo state has also recorded reported cases making the
states to become thirteen.
Information learnt Thursday, January
14 had it that a medical doctor died in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital
as a result of Lassa fever.
How To Prevent Lassar Fever: People should ensure their food is properly covered, either
cooked or uncooked. Liquid soap and antiseptics should be used to wash the
hands. Also, other rules of regular hand-washing should be adhered to always.
Rodenticides should be used to kill rats, while the bush around the home
should be cleared regularly. The windows and doors of the house should be
closed especially when it is night time.
Anybody who shows the given symptoms
above should report to the hospital immediately in order to prevent people not
infected from coming up with the disease.
In addition, medical personnels
should wear protective gloves and mask when treating people who are infected
with the disease. All efforts should be geared towards maintaining a general
personal, home and environmental cleanliness.
Thank you for your little time.
Lets support AMCP Organization,
Lets save life for better tomorrow.
