IT WAS REALLY HARD

HER EMINENCE QUEEN CHINWENDU JENNIFER NWANKWO (WINNER)
ADA MBANO CULTURAL PAGEANT 2015/15.
SHE HAPPILY NARRATED A BRIEF LIFE STORY - with her experience during the pageant.
"I Can't boast to be the best but i sincerely believe in myself"

Background
My names are Miss Jennifer Chinwendu Nwankwo. I am Ada Mbano Cultural Pageant 2015/16 (winner). I am from Imo State and an indigenous daughter of Mbano. I was born on September 5th, 1996 but grew up in Onitsha, Anambra State. I had my primary education there. I am an aspiring student. Growing up was fun with my parents and siblings. I’m the first child out of 4 younger siblings. .

Ada Mbano Cultural pageant
I heard of it from a friend who introduced it and ask me to try it out. The contestants were all beautiful, talented and bold. It was really hard choosing who has to wear the crown the second time, everybody was up on their game and showing their best but i wasn't scared to be there.I can’t boast to be the best but I sincerely believed in myself”, though I have gone for pageantries but never lucky ,maybe I was not confident then but I became bold and trust my instinct to get it right this time and God did favored me.

Influence
Growing up, I always saw myself as a queen. I looked up to ladies like Collette Nwadike (FACE OF UNIVERSE 2016) Genevieve Nnaji, Stephanie Okereke, Agbani Darego and Adaeze Cassandra Iwule (Ada Imo USA 2015). I have always watched them, the charisma, boldness and being strong women and knew I wanted to be like that someday. Then, it became a passion. I aspire to grow to be strong.

Family support
My mum has always been there for me, she understood what pageantry is all about and she fully supports me. My Dad has always supported my entertainment part always especially dancing. Though they saw the competitions as distractions from reading my books and preparing for tertiary and also thought I was too young to handle the fame that would come with it, but they really do supported me.

Life after the competition
It has been fabulous and glamorous. It has been wonderful and I am having the time of my life. At this point, I feel like being Ada Mbano forever.

Passion
I have a part of me that can still do what I do in real life on camera. Acting is a resemblance to a real life situation. We all act in our little ways. Working my way to Nollywood soon.

Fame
Fame has not taken away my freedom, though it has restricted it. As a queen and public figure, all eyes are on you, you have to be vigilant and careful in all your doings. But I do not think I am famous yet but with time.

Plans after the crown
I still have my office in Nelly Conxept Entertainment, even after the crown. I still want to be in the public eye and star in movies. I am seeing a revolution in Nollywood and I want to be part of it.

Relationship
That is my privacy and I still want it to be private.

Style
Style is the essence of life. I like to keep it simple. People tend to judge you with the way they see you and how you present yourself without knowing the inner you.

Advice to girls
Being a queen does not connote desperation. When you are desperate, so many things would go wrong. Persevere and work hard towards achieving what you want. Never let anyone discourage you from what you want to do and when that happens try to be your best and do it well. Above all be yourself and stand up for it. It’s your RIGHT.
                                                              THANKS FOR YOUR TIME
